Alice
Here is my Alice doll for this month's Month of Softies. I had such a good time making her - I've never made a 'human' doll before, only animals. But now I'm hooked and am already planning other girl-dolls for future projects. I'm not sure that she's actually very Alice-like, excepting the blue dress and blonde hair. I made a rabbit applique for the front of her dress (another nod to the Wonderland theme), but it just ended up looking a bit Playboy - not exactly the look I was after!! So the heart it is.
We're off to Melbourne tomorrow, taking Audrey to visit my Grandparents for the weekend. Today has been a blur of ticking things off lists, and I'm really looking forward to a lovely couple of days away from the usual routine.

She's wonderful!

Hi, I havejust come across your site for the first time. I saw your cat on the Loobylu month of Softies and thought it was very sweet. I really enjoyed making my cat for that project. I have just finished my Alice Doll too. I have 3 little boys. One has just turned 5, one is 2 1/2 and my baby is 15 months. I wanted to make something boyish for them, but I do need to make pretty things! I read how your daughter doesn't sleep through the night and wanted to let you know that my eldest didn't sleep through the night until he was 2 1/2. We talked to everybody about it and tried lot's of techniques, but in the end we decided to just relax and rest assured that eventually he would sleep through the night. Maybe easier said than done I know!
