April Monster Softie
This is my recycled monster for April's Month of Softies: a dinosaur made from an old pillow case I picked up for $1 at a garage sale. I had fun planning and sewing this one - usually I sew with heavy wools and tweeds, and this fabric is so light and cheerful! I'm still on a steep curve learning lots about 3D pattern making with every new attempt, but she did turn out pretty much as I'd hoped, aside from her sagging tummy... maybe she's had kids, too!

I love your recycled monster! She reminds me a little of a plant-eating dinosaur (someone in my house loves dinosaurs) camouflaging herself among the leaves and flowers.

I love your dinosaur! I've been experimenting myself with making my own patterns - so far just experiments! I'd love to hear about your pattern making process, because obviously, it's working!

Ha Saggy belly I like it! Love the idea of a flowery dinosaur...did you find the softer finer fabric hard to fill? I find its hard not to make it lumpy...Gotta love $1 funky pillow case finds too!

soo good-it reminds me of these dinos my mom made my brother and I in the 70's. they were out of awful (good awful)green fabric-we loved them so much!
I'm making sadie's summer dresses out of old sheets this year-but I hadn't thought to look for pillow cases-they would be cute as aprons too.

I think her sagging tummy is my favorite part. She wants a snuggle. Hard day at the watering hole, and all

I think you did a great job with the pattern. It looks like a Brachiosaurus my 5 year old just told me! I think it is wonderful and a very huggable shape too.
