eight things

Bib1

Um, ok. Perhaps I was a bit too enthusiastic about the whole I've-got-loads-of-energy-now thing. More like I can make it through the day no problem, but forget it if you expect me to move my increasingly whale-like body after about 8.00pm.

A while ago, Happy Loves Rosie tagged me for the eight things meme that's doing the rounds at the moment. I already did the seven things one not long ago, so I thought I might be cheeky and list eight things I'd forgotten about being pregnant. As a flimsy segue (pregnancy-babies-pictures of baby things), the photo at the top is a bib I made a while back to send with a monkey to Di for her cyber baby shower.

1. The clumsiness - if it can be dropped, I will drop it. (Makes sewing fun!)
2. It's a long way down to pick up all those dropped things/clean up toys, etc.
3. I keep forgetting to make allowances for my belly as I move about, and continute to bump it into doorways and drop things onto it (see no.1).
4. Nesting. I lie awake at night mentally rearranging the household furniture, and repainting walls. It's more than an interest (though I do love doing both of those things) - when I'm pregnant, the desire to get the house ready becomes an absolute imperative.
5. I love dressing for pregnancy.
6. Er, I don't really enjoy it when people pat my belly.
7. The forgetfulness. In turns frustrating and bizarre. I led Audrey on a wild goose chase though city streets last week looking for a bus stop after reading the directions only an hour before.
8. Feeling those early little flutters and kicks. Just wonderful.

as a child I would rearrange my bedroom at night time when I should have been sleeping. I still rearrange things each week...no pregnancy required. thanks for sharing.

I remember those days and now I'm sending mine off to kindergarten today!

I kept looking at that picture and thinking, "I'd love to have that bag pattern." Until I realized it was a baby bib. Ooops! (Turn it into a purse!)

yeah, i love it when i take off my shirt at the end of the day and notice a huge spot (of food or something else i've stuck my belly in) that's been hiding on the underside of my belly all day long....

Oh, I miss those little flutters! There's nothing in the world like it, so magical. I just took my oldest to Kindergarten today, too, and am feeling soooo nostalgic, squeezing my little one more tightly. Take good care, and please stop bumping that poor belly...

Ahhh yes, those were the days, though I never got the nesting urge like that. My tip- get dressed after you've brushed your teeth (to eliminate one potential clothing change at least)!
(it is a lovely bib too :))

cute little bib!

my youngest just turned one and i am feeling nostalgic about my three pregnancies! what an exciting time. just wanted to say i love your blog and handmade items, so inspiring!

Having a case of the guilts after my email...hope it didn't sound like I was trying to ramp up the pressure in the toy-making department! Pregnant stomachs come first!! The one flip side of no longer seeing your toes is that it is an excellent excuse for a regular pedicure!

I'm sending all the best for you and your New One - big hugs. Actually, it's a great opportunity for me to introduce myself :) as a faithful reader of your blog (I put it in my blogroll to see often what's up in hopskipjump kingdom) and your dolls and softies. They are very unique I must say.
Have a nice tume now - and once more - all the best.

I'm with you about the pregnant belly touching.
Why is it people think they can just come up and touch you like that?
Just because one person obviously has been touching you, does that make it a free for all??
I found it a bit creepy - that an all the unsolicited advice once the baby is born...

Wonderful rediscovery. So familiar, how do we forget it in between pregnancies?! Even the crappy bits are at the very least fascinating. Re-arrangement. The best friend of insomniacs like me.
And the dolls in the last couple of posts have been gorgeous too. I particularly love the new clothing styles.

Wow, I haven't been to your blog in a while and now you're pregnant! Congrats!! Sorry it has been a little rough, hopefully things will settle down for you! Take care of yourself.

I love the little bib.

believe me, I know how you feel. I am 28 weeks now
and really feel preggo with my watermelon belly

I so remember no.4--and it seemed my mind would never shut off some nights. I got so much accomplished in my mind at night, and then in the morning, the reality was always there to greet me! (along with my lack of energy!) :)
absolutely love the bib. maybe you'll be making more?? for the new shop?? we're approaching food stage here with elizabeth and i'm dying for some handmade bib goodness....

hello - ohh im so glad you listed 8 things about your pregnancy - I loved being pregnant, my babies are now 14 and 18...the years have flown by, if I could do it all again, I wouldn't wish away each stage, you see you wish for them to be sitting up and then you wish for them to be crawling and then walking and before you know it they are all grown up! Enjoy every stage and do not wish for the next - take care - luv happy xx
