a bit of sparkle

Baubles

Not a lot from me today. It's hot again, and I feel foolish blogging about baubles, but I'm tired, so I hope you will forgive me. Every year for the past few years, we have been developing a tradition whereby each member of the family chooses a special decoration for the christmas tree. Truth be known, we've probably selected more than one each this year, but these could be my favourites. Audrey and I found these baubles in at Wheel and Barrow. The red glass ones were my choice (found it hard to decide between these and the green version of the same thing). The sparkly one is Audrey's - because she's four and is rendered weak in the face of a bit of sparkle. She actually kissed it in the shop, her love for it was so strong... how could a mother resist?

we have the same tradition - i love it!
your picks this year are wonderful - and who doesn't love some sparkle?

oh i love those! the color scheme for my Christmas tree this year is red, white, and silver, and anything glass and sparkly in those colors makes me giddy. Thanks for sharing!

They are beautiful. I like to pick out a few special things each year too.

gorgeously sublime shade of red......very yumm! just also saw your blog of past with all your wee advent socks (and you preggers to boot)gosh women are amazing! you are amazing. Most inspiring - food for my imagination! I love how the sparkly ornament was kissed in the store....I STILL love sparkles and I'm 40 so I most likely would have done the same! bahahah. cheerio !

My tradition that I started was that I make a Christmas decoration for each of the kids each year, with "X's first Christmas" etc on it. Except for last year when I was pregnant, had no inspiration and completely couldn't be bothered. In years to come, when I've forgotten, I will wonder what happened to "X's 3rd Christmas"!

We do that too but as a part of the advent calendar. Probably this Sunday I'll put a little poem in the stocking marked '2' and we will go off and buy a decoration each! I love the sparkly one!
