Advent stocking garland completed! After a late one at the sewing machine last night, then an hour finishing up this afternoon while Audrey danced around my work room to playground radio, they are all done and installed. I listed the materials used & inspiration for these here and here - but they are basically linen and four different colours of felted wool blanket. I only had limited amounts of the felt, so the colours & distribution thereof were dictated by that.
Now the only question is what to put in them. We'll be filling each one the night before since there's a four year old here that won't be able to refrain from checking them all out on December 1. I'll be drawing heavily on the lists of ideas over at little birds, Kiddley and Kid's Craft Weekly. Also, I noticed that Manda has a great list growing on her blog today (thankyou!), and via that this great list of ideas, too.
Oh, and since I didn't start this blogging every day business until the 6th day of November, I'm going to carry on for a little while longer into next month.
Happy advent, everyone!

Wow, you're one clever lady - they look incredible!

These are just gorgeous, it seems a shame to pack them away after Christmas.
Really lovely!

It looks great, congrats on getting it finished just in time ;)
I like how it's not too Christmasy but fits in just perfectly there above your fireplace.

Oh this came out so wonderful! I've got to do something similar. I had no plans for making or even using a calendar this year. My on is still small. Perhaps too small to understand much. But next year is a must!

Oh, so good. Looks just right, that last shot could be from a magazine. Fab job, mummy! I hope to finish my advent boxes this afternoon with the kiddos, and then I'll fill and hang them tonight. Mine are getting hung way. up. high. because my kids are *much* less disciplined than Audrey. Not only would they be checking out all the goodies, they'd be pulling everything down and hiding them all over the house, no doubt!
