Advent stocking garland completed! After a late one at the sewing machine last night, then an hour finishing up this afternoon while Audrey danced around my work room to playground radio, they are all done and installed. I listed the materials used & inspiration for these here and here - but they are basically linen and four different colours of felted wool blanket. I only had limited amounts of the felt, so the colours & distribution thereof were dictated by that.

Now the only question is what to put in them. We'll be filling each one the night before since there's a four year old here that won't be able to refrain from checking them all out on December 1. I'll be drawing heavily on the lists of ideas over at little birds, Kiddley and Kid's Craft Weekly. Also, I noticed that Manda has a great list growing on her blog today (thankyou!), and via that this great list of ideas, too.

Oh, and since I didn't start this blogging every day business until the 6th day of November, I'm going to carry on for a little while longer into next month.

Happy advent, everyone!

Wow, you're one clever lady - they look incredible!

These are just gorgeous, it seems a shame to pack them away after Christmas.
Really lovely!

It looks great, congrats on getting it finished just in time ;)

I like how it's not too Christmasy but fits in just perfectly there above your fireplace.

What a marvellous stocking garland ! A great decoration !

Great garland! The fireplace is pretty too!
I look forward to your daily blogging!

they look great!

time to dig mine out of storage!
(nothing like waiting until the last possible minute!)

Oh this came out so wonderful! I've got to do something similar. I had no plans for making or even using a calendar this year. My on is still small. Perhaps too small to understand much. But next year is a must!

Very ambitious!

Just ran across your blog. Good stuff! Love your advent calendar. I made a stocking advent calendar myself last week!

How dear is that? What a lucky four year old.

Fiona - it came out so beautifully! I'm so impressed it was completed in time. Yay!!

Oh these are so inspiring! So beautiful!! I would have to start in January to make it by next Christmas but I'm definitely putting this on the project list. :)

amazing! well done. and what a lovely fireplace too.

Oh, so good. Looks just right, that last shot could be from a magazine. Fab job, mummy! I hope to finish my advent boxes this afternoon with the kiddos, and then I'll fill and hang them tonight. Mine are getting hung way. up. high. because my kids are *much* less disciplined than Audrey. Not only would they be checking out all the goodies, they'd be pulling everything down and hiding them all over the house, no doubt!

ahhh! they are gorgeous!! :D

I am thinking we need more than one advent calendar! That is great.

Wow, so the late night was worth it! The garland looks wonderful.

The garland is so beautiful - well done getting it finished in time! I've made my first advent calendar and am so excited about putting it up for tomorrow!!

How wonderful is your advent!!

It turned out really beautifully. Well done!

They look sensational Fiona. Audrey will have so much fun.

That is fantastic. I'm very impressed by the speedy construction too!

Great Idea. Beatiful garland
