stuffed and hand-sewn

Boxolimbs

If necessity is the mother of invention, then a small box of stuffed and hand-sewn toy giraffe limbs is the product of the heavily pregnant woman who likes to sit on the couch.

Thankyou so much for your kind and thoughtful comments on my last post, indeed to all my pregnancy related posts of late. I can't tell you how much I appreciate everyone who stops by to read, say hello and share some of their personal experience. I don't have any flowers, but a bouquet of colourful giraffe bits for you all!

they're still cute.

i really feel for your with your uncomfort right now--my last one (which will be the LAST one) was born at the peak of summer heat--and I just felt so sluggish. Like my life had slowed down to half speed while everyone ran past me.

Hehe, what could be cuter than a little basket of little giraffe limbs?? :) Love it.

Giraffe limbs for me? Ooh I love them thanks! xxx

ow, there must be something wrong with me - everyone else says the limbs are cute, but i thought "err, creepy chop shop bucket'o'legs!"

Have you murdered a bunch of giraffe's lol. their limbs look cute i cant wait to see them fully made up lol.

Such fun! I have enjoyed every post leading up to the birth of this child. In fact I love your blog! I am so glad your time is about done, after 3 sections I wish you the best with your Vbac and hope all goes well!

Giraffe parts! What else would a nearly due woman do with her time. ;-)

Your giraffe bits are cute!

You're very 'precious' aren't you! LOL, your poor husband!!

giraffe bits are pleasant treats. I've been thinking a lot lately about creating a neat giraffe on a quilt. Still thinking mainly though.

Giraffe limbs? Like jewelry. I hope you feel ok.

Good luck with it all (babywise, not giraffewise!) Think about what a kind child you are carrying, because he turned for you. He must be some kind of wonderful! I have a daughter who will be 11 on January 27 and this is the worst time of year to be hugely pregnant! I just completely stopped from 36 weeks. Have fun!

thinking of you!!! and sending you the best.

(and secretly admiring your productivity level during these last few weeks. i hope i can follow in your footsteps!)

I had my Lilly Bug at 37 weeks after a brief 5 hours and no drugs. I'm sending good wishes that you have the good fortune I did.
Oh, and you have lovely limbs.

Hi!
I gave you a 'You make my day award' on my blog.
I just love yours and follow it with delight!
I am pregnant too, and big (too much amniotic fluid). I love reading your commentaries.

Hey Fiona, I am so excited for you....not long now!!!! Max was emergency C as well and Oaks was Vbac no drugs ( i had 5 sessions of Shiatsu 3 weeks before..i think that really helped) and like you know, no matter what way they come, they are all so beautiful!!... i send you lots of positive vibes and wishes and love for your little ones delivery. :)))

Love the little limbs a very sweet photo.

Give me Giraffe limbs any day!

hello!
how do you join your limbs to the body?
love the kangaroo!

Brand new to blogs and so excited to have found such a beautiful blog by someone in Adelaide, where I live!!! Go figure.

I absolutely cannot believe how fast your toys disappear off your etsy! I was sitting on it, refresshing every minute or so, then I had to go to the loo... I was there for no longer than 30 seconds... came back and they were GONE!! I admit feeling like crying. :( *grin* How much do you sell them for, anyway?

Sorry about that Jenny, they did go kinda fast today. The giraffes sell for $85USD, but other toys start at around $70USD, depending on what it is. Thanks for asking!

Ham Sandwich - for the kangaroo and giraffes, the limbs are attached using a button and some very strong thread. For my other toys, the limbs are usually sewn into the main body seam of the toy. Hope that helps.

Juliette - thanks! :)
