Lordy, that went fast. Someone once said to me - or perhaps I read it - that as a parent to young children, the days are long but the years are short (sorry if I'm badly paraphrasing your blog entry). Those words are ringing very true for me at the moment. Thanks again for your lovely comments about Henry's arrival. We are still all here, and still doing fine. At 7 weeks old Henry is a real delight. The two child juggle has not been without it's ups and downs (those of you with 3 or more children will surely be scoffing at me), but we seem to be settling in to some kind of daily rhythm. Mr H is a catnapper by day like his sister before him. Hence no blog posts for a month as I remember what it's like to try to squeeze as much as possible into the 40 minute baby sleep cycle.

So I'm afraid there's not much for me to report, unless record breaking heatwaves are of interest. (I almost went bonkers staying inside for so many days on end with a newborn). I still haven't made it back to the sewing machine, although all that time on the couch spent feeding has been put to good use thinking about all the things I'm going to make one day soon. The photo up top is of an unfinished doll quilt I made for Audrey before Henry's arrival. (Still sitting on my desk waiting for binding - ack! the guilt!) The other photo was taken of the little guy last week. Just because.

He is as handsome as can be. If you want someone to finish that binding for you, send the quilt my way and then I'll send it back all complete so it's not one more thing nagging in your mommy brain.
Take care.

Henry is beautiful...I had my first son Tyler a month ago on Mon Feb 18th also after a long delivery which ended in a c section. Your blog has kept me busy during the little breaks between feeding. many thanks..the quilt looks fantastic.

"Just because" is a very good reason in itself. But I can think of some others, one being that jis little hands are so beautiful that if I were around I´d be chewing them the whole day (until he´s old enough to "defend" himself from me, of course!).

Congratulations, again!

suggestion? get someone else to bind the quilt. there are folks with giant machines that do it. just have to find them. usually by word of mouth.

Thanks for the update, he is so cute. Love the quilt, I am at the same partly finished point with one over here too.

I love the greens in that quilt. just stunning.

Congratulations on your new baby! He is so beautiful. I am getting ready for my 2nd child arrival in the fall. It's been 5 years since I last gave birth. I still remember the lack of sleep and breast feeding around the clock vividly. Good Luck and enjoy that beautiful baby boy! Happy Sunday!

Congratulations on your little man and making it thru those first weeks of incorporating a new person into the family. I have so enjoyed reading your blog and thought I really ought to summon the courage and comment.
Im quite new to blogging and its been a revelation to find so many clever creative people worldwide and gleen so much information and energy. I look forward to your future posts and I wish you every happiness

Hang in there! it does get a bit easier when you find your rhythm. I have two girls that are 16 months apart, not planned that way. They are now 4 and almost 3 and they play together which is a dream! Things to look forward to. It is hard going from 1 to 2 kids. Before you know it you will be celebrating his 1st birthday. Enjoy it while you can.

What a sweetie!
Love the green bonds.
Love the doll quilt, the colours work really well with the linen.
