three things
Hello! Three things that are making me happy this week. One: I'm
loving machine quilting. I've been putting off quilting the flock of triangles quilt. Mostly
because I envisioned loads of swearing and puckering fabric and general
grumpiness as I tried to squeeze a proper quilt though my
domestic
sewing machine. After thinking about it far too much, I just jumped in. Amazingly - amazingly - it's been ok. More than ok. Granted, I'm just sticking wth some basic zig
zags, and admittedly, it's not a king size quilt we're talking about.
But so far it's been a really enjoyable experience. Fun. Who'd have
thought it?! I don't think I mentioned that I invested in a walking
foot for my husky. It's all about the walking foot as far as I'm
concerned - she chomps through the layers like butter. Love the foot.
Two: During the shed palaver last week, we moved some furniture about. This old trunk came out of storage and is now functioning as a bench seat in the
living room. That is, a seat that I can chuck toys in at the end of the day! The sun even came out for a while today so I could take a
photo of it (er, and the, 'characterful' (cough) half brick/half plaster wall behind it...)
Three: Henry turned 6 months old this week, and we've started feeding him solid food. He's been so lukewarm about it. After grimacing, even dramatically gagging, through offerings of rice cereal and cooked apple, tonight he downed a bowl of banana. He even smiled about it! The boy likes banana. Hooray!
What are three good things from your week? Let me know in the comments here, or if you blog about it. :)

i like thinking this way...i think my machine is working again (fingers crossed, breath held), i've only missed one day working out this week which means i have 3 under my belt, and it's cooler today...yeah!

Three good things?
* hailstorms (albeit short ones)
*lapsang souchong tea
* embroidery.
I'm dying to know - where did you get the grey dot fabric in the quilt from? It's beautiful.... as is the whole quilt, I can't wait to see it all quilted up....
Cheers,
Leah xxx

Yes, the walking foot makes all the difference, doesn't it! It looks like your quilt is coming along nicely . I'm looking forward to seeing it finished ;-)
I love your trunk/seat with all the various green cushions on it. It looks like a good place to rest your eyes after the toys have been tucked away for the day.
My week has been all about having time to quilt. A new book with new inspiration has done the trick, and I'm having fun making huge quilt blocks and blogging about them. And tomorrow - the Quilting Olympics...

Kids LOVE banana, it's practically guaranteed. Then they grow old enough to feed themselves and learn that its squishy hehehe.
Three good things: the sun came out after 5 straight weeks of rain! The mud became dirt again. Laundry dried!

Try avocado, my girls all four loved it for a first food and it's just about as easy as a banana.
Three things making me happy:
1. my new clothes line and cute pin bag
2. planning a weekend trip camping with husband
3. learning a bit more about embroidery...I think I could get into it.

1) I learnt to knit again (I haven't tried for about 10 years) and I can still do it!
2) I made some pretty cupcakes for my new cake stand :-D
3)My friend text me to tell me that her prematurely born baby had been moved from the London hospital he was in, back to our local hospital and that he's getting better (he had a collapsed lung and heart murmur).

Hey, thanks for making me stop and think about the good things, rather than just letting them slip by. Genius! I've posted about my three things (http://spinspin-handmade.blogspot.com/) but here's a summary:
Enjoying the sun, and eating a cake and finally getting a freelance project printed (my first proper one, no less).
My week feels better already :)

OOPS, accidentally deleted a line in my above comment! It was supposed to say "baking and eating SOME cake", not eating a whole cake! Although it's so good I almost want to...

Only three good things???
1. I finally launched my weblog (very quiet, soft launch)
2. I got a new job (still not my dream job)
3. I go on holidays this afternoon for a week (volunteering the whole week at a quilt show)
Stick with the machine quilting. A walking foot is a very good investment. Try free motion machine quilting once you have mastered your straight machine quilting. Free motion is a lot of fun.

The three things that are making me happy this week are:
1. The snow fall yesterday. The biggest most beautiful flakes I have ever seen!
2. My little girl getting over an illness that has hung around her for too many days now.
3. The weekend...lock the door, keep the world at bay and just be with my family. My idea of bliss!
Hope you have a lovely weekend - Jen

After wishing I had more time to spend at home and less at work, I ended up with a virus/cold thing and had to stay at home for three days (did I bring it on myself??), which has actually been ok (despite being sick) cos I got to sleep (yay), spend time with our pets (who sleep a lot!) and catch up on some blog reading. Yeeha. Your quilt looks wonderful - I think I better invest in one of those feet too after my last machine quilting disaster! Thanks for the tip :D

1. It's Friday
2. My youngest had her first haircut today
3. My oldest saying it was Mary St Hilda day instead of Mary Mackillop (that made me laugh)

First off, the quilt is looking great.
I love the red back.
My daughter Scarlet turned 6 months 2 days ago and so far she is not thrilled about food either but she has only had peas. One of my brothers despises peas and so he thinks I'm awful that i gave them to her first.
3 good things
1)I finished knitting a hat i've wanted to do for a while.
2)I went to the beach today and relaxed (yes, you read it- relaxed)
3) You've just convinced met to get a walking foot which I think will be the ticket to get me over my inhibitions regarding quilting because honestly I think about them far too much to not be doing anything about it

I decided to do a short post on my blog about 3 good things from this week. This is a great idea and perfect timing. I don't normally write a lot on my blog, but there's a first for everything.
Yay for 6 months and eating banana! I LOVE banana and most fruits. The quilt is looking great and I love the trunk/bench seat. With the brick/plastered wall behind it and all!
