Yesterday's mail was very nice! In it, these felt beads from this etsy seller. I have a big new-craft-supplies crush on them. They are earmarked for a christmas project I can't wait to get stuck into.

lulu and linkage

We had such a nice time in Melbourne. It went too fast - 3.5 days in Melbourne is never enough. We never made it to the craft market (bugger), but did spend a lovely afternoon in the children's garden at the Botanic Gardens with family. I'd never been before and came away so inspired by the fantastic vegie garden. What a gorgeous place! You Melbournians are so lucky.

Since getting back, I've been on a giraffe making frenzy. I cut out 5 over the weekend! This one, Lulu, is the first one off the production line. (Sorry about the photo overkill with the giraffes, that mug shot photo just amuses me - perhaps I should get out more?)

Aside from tinkering with giraffes, I've been spending a little too much time clicking about the internet. A couple of my current favourite places for inspiration:

shop swap

Hello! Just a quick post to say that I'm adding these little creatures to my shop today at 10.30am (that's Australian Central Daylight Savings time). Also, I've made the switch from etsy to bigcartel, so the new shop is here. Button also in the right column of the blog. I figured now was a good time to make the change. This way, I can list in Australian dollars so I can set a consistent value on each toy, and local folks don't have to lose a bundle in currency conversion. Another bonus - if you're purchasing in another currency (bigcartel still does paypal if you're wondering) you get to benefit from the woeful Australian dollar. Right-o, no more shop talk for now, I promise. :)

Another giraffe, this time to add to my shop update, along with the mice next week. But first, I'm off to Melbourne. To spend some time with my Dad and see my dear grandmother who hasn't been very well of late. Really looking forward to it. If time and the routine of small children allow, I'm hoping to get to pop into Mathilda's Market on Sunday morning. Fingers crossed.

chopper squad

It's all about teeth in our house at the moment. Henry is growing them, and Audrey is losing them. Actually, that's misleading - it's not lost yet, but she has her first wobbly chopper. In preparation for the big event I made her this tooth pillow over the weekend. It's a copy of an idea I've seen about the internet, but first saw here. There's a little pocket in the back for the tooth when it finally falls out, and for the tooth fairy to leave her booty. When will that be? I wish I knew - she's very excited and asks, oh, about once every hour. I thought it might be a couple of weeks, but re-reading Stephanie's original post about her daughter's tooth being wobbly for 14 months has me preparing for a possible long haul. :)

I've been in bed with the 'flu for the past two days. Feeling much better today.

Working on some new stationery. 

Thinking about getting some greeting cards printed up for the shop with line drawings similar to the stationery... not sure.

Watching the American election unfold with great interest.

Weeds have taken over the garden, but look pretty in a vase on the kitchen table.

Time is running out while my littlest commando-crawling companion sleeps.
