Hello! It's been a few weeks. I have been down and out with the 'flu, and the kids have had various winter bugs, too. While I was sniffling pathetically on the couch last week, I discovered that Penguin have listed my book on their website. Finding that was an exciting moment! (Then I got a bit enthusiastic with google and found it both here and here - yikes!)
So, I can finally write a little more about it here on the blog now. The book is called Hop Skip Jump: 2- Eco-Friendly Toys to Sew, and it's all about sewing toys using environmentally-friendly materials. There are 20 toy projects in there, plus information about how to source 'green' fabric and notions. After all the hard work that goes into writing a book - and after reading over its pages QUITE a few times, I'm still enormously excited about the premise of this. Sewing sustainably is something I've become increasingly preoccupied with over the past couple of years, so having been able to write a book about both these things has been rather ace.
It'll be published by Penguin Australia on October 31 this year (which really isn't very far away given that it's August already today). I'm looking forward to being able to write more about the book-writing process, and - of course - show you what's inside.
