The whole time I was working on my book, I had this quilt in the back of my head. It's based on this one from Lotta's Handmade Living - just a patchwork of strips of two different widths. All of this fabric is from the stash and much of it organic or old - and that makes me quite chipper. That said, I will need to buy new batting when the time comes, and probably something for the back, too. There are some absolute favorite prints in there - a couple of Cloudbirds from Skinny laMinx, some Cloth from their newish quilting range (swoon), some Summersville and some Ink & Spindle (who, co-incidentally, I met for the first time at Bowerbird Bazaar last weekend. Hello Lara and Teegan, it was lovely to meet you!)
So often with quilts I overthink the whole thing. I get myself in a tangle over pattern/prints/colours and the quilt never gets made. This one is coming together so fast, it makes me think that the trick (for me) is to grab my best bits of fabric, stop thinking, and get cracking. Eight strips down, and probably around 16 to go. I'm excited to see how it turns out!
